Portman Finance Group are one of the UK’s largest private finance brokers and lenders. We talk to over 25,000 businesses each year about their funding needs, helping them to grow, capture opportunities, boost cashflow and spread the cost of new equipment. To date we have secured over £1.1bn in commercial finance for UK SMEs.

Starting in 2007 with only a handful of staff, we have over 17 years of specialist sector experience and have rapidly expanded in the last 2 years. We’ve more than doubled our headcount and recently purchased ‘Portman House’, which provides a prestige working environment.

Our ambition is continued expansion through recruitment of the best candidates, expansion of our product offering and deployment of the latest technology. Through a high standard of service and careful measurement we make smart decisions whilst best serving the needs of our customers. What’s your social scene like?

What is the culture like at Portman?

What time does everyone leave the office?

Our working hours are 8:30 until 5:30pm, though there may of course, be days where you will finish later. Whilst you are expected to work hard, we understand the importance of personal time to enjoy your evenings and your family.

How does the interview process work?

Interviews will always take a 2-stage process. An online zoom interview with our COO and HR Manager, followed by an in-person interview with members of our Executive Board and our CCO. Its extremely important to us that we keep expanding with the best people, so our Board are invested in always being part of the process.
