Working in the Commercial Finance industry, you’ll have the opportunity to train and work directly with the Managing Director, Sales Director and Director of Strategy and Operations as we look to develop you on our 18-month Fast Track Manager Programme. Watch yourself engage confidently with our high-profile clients and partners within months, and equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary, you’ll become an expert in our diverse finance solutions.

We’re also happy to support you in obtaining an LIBF Diploma in Asset Finance should you wish.

Fast Track Programme

For those who excel and show exceptional performance, our fast-track programme offers an accelerated path for career progression at Portman Finance Group.

Our Accelerated Career Progression Programme provides progression into a managerial role to support the growth of our sales team and business, providing a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are truly motivated and driven to succeed.

Within your first year at Portman, everyone will receive the opportunity to ‘enrol’ onto our fast-track programme, which can see you become a Senior Finance Broker within 12 months and an Executive in 18 months or less.

Our standard track also ensures a thorough development path. With our clear roadmap/clear career progression, achieving Senior status is achievable in two years or less.

This programme still includes full training on Portman’s finance solutions, preparing you for success in the financial sector and if performance is exceptional, at any progression stage, you can move from the standard track onto the fast track for accelerated progress.

What Do We Look For In Our Seniors?

For our Senior positions, the key to success lies in being fast paced, extremely self-motivated, and commercially aware with strong business acumen. However, we don’t require previous experience of working in Asset Finance or Brokerage, as our induction and onboarding programme will provide all the product knowledge needed.

As day-to-day activities will involve consultatively prospecting and generating new business from a mix of warm leads (generated by our in-house marketing and outbound call teams) and prospecting yourself, communication skills are paramount.

With a view to forging long-term relationships, being able to understand clients’ key needs and drivers is vital to identifying the right finance solutions to add true value. On top of this, you will need to be adept and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you could be managing 30-40 sales processes at different stages simultaneously (with full back-office support provided).
